Position Summary
We are seeking two highly motivated, disciplined, and detail-oriented recent law graduates to join our team as Legal Assistants. In this dual-capacity role, the successful candidates will provide vital technical and administrative support to our attorneys while also serving as Knowledge Management (KM) Officers and Data Encoders. This is an entry-level position designed for high-achieving graduates who are eager to build a robust foundation in legal practice, document management, and client service.
Key Accountabilities
The Legal Assistants will be entrusted with the following core responsibilities:
î Legal & Administrative Support: Prepare, format, and manage legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence; support attorneys with day-to-day administrative tasks.
î Legal Research: Conduct preliminary legal research on statutes, case law, and regulatory frameworks to support ongoing cases and advisory work.
î Knowledge & Document Management: Act as the firm’s Knowledge Management Officer and Data Encoder; maintain, update, and optimize physical case files and digital document management systems.
î Client Relations: Assist with client communications, manage scheduling, and handle administrative client inquiries with the utmost professionalism.
î General Duties: Undertake all other technical and administrative tasks as assigned by the firm’s management and attorneys.
Reporting & Working Relationships
î Reporting Line: Report directly to the attorneys they support.
î Internal Collaboration: Work closely with other legal assistants, administrative staff, and Knowledge Management personnel to ensure seamless firm operations.
î External Interaction: Interact professionally with clients, court clerks, and regulatory bodies on administrative and scheduling matters.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be considered for this competitive role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
î Education: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognized Ethiopian University.
î Experience: Entry-level (0 years of experience). Recent graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
î Academic Excellence: A minimum CGPA of 3.4 for female and 3.6 for male applicants and above.
î Exit Exam: Must have successfully passed the Ethiopian Ministry of Education Law National Exit Exam with a highly competitive score.
î Core Competencies:
E The highest level of professional discipline, ethical integrity, and confidentiality.
E Strong technological proficiency, particularly in data encoding, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital filing systems.
E Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
î Language: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Amharic and English.
